Event Description NERA Economic Consulting has established the Fred Dunbar
Memorial Lecture in Law and Economics at Fordham Law School. The series is
named for longtime NERA securities expert Fred Dunbar, who died in February
2012.
Dr. Dunbar joined NERA in 1979 and founded the firm's Securities and
Finance and Mass Torts and Product Liability Practices. In September 2009, he
was appointed an Economic Fellow in the Office of Economic Analysis of the U.S.
Securities and Exchange Commission, where he was part of the Division of Risk,
Strategy and Financial Innovation.
The
inaugural lecture speaker is The Honorable Sheila C. Bair, Chairman,
Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (2006-2011); Senior Advisor, Pew
Charitable Trusts; Preeminent Financial Reform and Policy Innovator
"Ending Too Big to Fail"
"As an expert witness, a scholar, and an SEC Fellow, Fred
was a distinguished economist who worked at the intersection of law and
economics," said NERA President Dr. Andrew Carron.
