On the year anniversary of the death of Osama Bin Laden, Peter Bergen’s new book, Manhunt, takes readers inside the Situation Room, where President Obama made the tough decision to risk the raid that would change history - and then inside Operation Neptune Spear, one of the most daring and important Navy Seal operations of our time. Peter Bergen is a national security analyst for CNN, Director of the National Security Program at New America Foundation and a Fellow at the Center on National Security at Fordham Law. The first journalist to interview Bin Laden on television, Bergen has written three previous books about terrorism and Al Qaeda: The Longest War, Holy War, Inc. and The Osama Bin Laden I Know.
Richard Engel, NBC’s Chief Foreign Correspondent, is author of A Fist in the Hornet’s Nest and War Journal: My Five Years in Iraq, about his experience covering the Iraq war. Engel, who is fluent in Arabic, is NBC’s former Middle East correspondent and Beirut Bureau Chief, and has won several awards for his work, including the Medill Medal for Courage in Journalism.
