Senior transactional lawyers have extensive drafting experience and little time. This one-hour whirlwind program will rapidly review ten drafting tips easily incorporated into a lawyer's toolkit. Among the topics to be covered in this whirlwind class are the following:

•    Four common causes of ambiguity and their respective cures.
•    Why to use shall not will, and the rules’ exceptions.
•    When not to use shall.
•    How to draft an enforceable anti assignment provision.
•    Whether a successors and assigns provision is worth the paper it's written on.
•    Why the differences between representations and warranties matter.

1:00 PM - 2:00 PM Blackboard Analytics training
Blackboard Analytics platform is a system for analysis of student data from Banner.  It can be used to discover vital insights into student population, manage course loads and class utilization and help allocate resources more effectively.

This is a hands-on training session which will be held on the Rose Hill Campus, in Dealy Hall, Room E-205.
3:00 PM - 4:00 PM Law School Tour
A guided tour of the law school will be presented by a current student. The tour should last between 30-45 minutes. You must register online at least 24 hours in advance to secure a spot. Please have a state issued form of identification to gain access to the building.  

Your tour guide will meet you in the lobby of the law school building by the welcome desk.

Please note tours will start exactly on time, so it's best to arrive a few minutes early.

Stein Scholars Event - "Alternatives to Incarceration"
Co-sponsored by FLS Youth Law & FLS Prisoners Rights.
Come hear two experienced speakers discuss alternative approaches to incarceration and their potential benefits. The speakers will draw on their professional and personal experiences with the justice system. Carol Fisler is the Director of Mental Health Court and Alternative-to-Detention Programs at the Center for Court Innovation. Jim St. Germain is the founder of Preparing Leaders of Tomorrow (PLOT), a nonprofit organization that provides mentors to youth involved with or at-risk of entering the juvenile justice system. 
Open to all Fordham Law School community.
